Made up of dynamic young players on the UK scene, Shui Mo looks to create a new repertoire in Britain unbounded by eastern or western aesthetics to provide new palettes for transculturally-minded composers and innovators of the 21st century. The ensemble is in-residence at the University of Bristol.

Luminous Ink Shadows award for Kiko Shao
Shui Mo is thrilled to announce the commission of Cardiff/Hong Kong composer Kiko Shao’s new work, Luminous Ink Shadows 墨影浮光 made possible by support from the Vaughan Williams Foundation. The work will premiere 26 April, 2.30pm on Bristol New Music, at the Victoria Rooms, Bristol, on Shui Mo’s programme Sea, Shadow and Ink. Shao is one of Guangzhou and Hong Kong’s best-known composers, who has lived in the UK the past five years. We are deeply grateful to the Vaughan Williams Foundation for their support!
